Hopping by…

Morning all and welcome to my stop on the ILWS colour coach blog hop. If you’ve started from the beginning (Anthea's Blog)  then hopefully you’ve arrived from Jane’s blog. However If you’ve started here, then simply follow the link at the end of my post to Val’s blog, then continue on around the loop, and you’ll eventually end up back here! There is also a second loop running which starts with Emily.

For my samples I chose a simple masculine colour combination of Whisper White, Marina Mist and Night of Navy – all of which are from our ‘getting started’ colour collection. I used the circle circus stamp set to create a one sheet wonder on A4 whisper white cardstock in my two ink colours, and then cut the panel into lots of smaller pieces to make the following collection of cards.

It’s a really simple technique for generating a number of cards on a theme with a limited selection of supplies, and can be used with lots of our stamp sets – I’ve used it previously with greenhouse garden and serene snowflakes. Here are the cards in a little more detail.

Well, that's it, work is over for the week and it's officially the weekend! just a quick post to show you the projects that we'll be making at class tomorrow  We're making three cards and a cute egg-shaped Easter basket using the 'A Good Egg' stamp set and the springtime colours in the Nursery Suite designer papers.

 

So in a little more detail, we'll be making a twisted easel

and the egg-shaped basket which will hold some cream eggs (assuming I haven't eaten them in the meantime)

In Loving Memory

Hi Folks, I've been a bit quiet for a couple of weeks due to being busy at work and family circumstances.  Sadly, Darren's grandfather passed away on Saturday so its been a strange couple of days. T.D. had recently turned 83, but had been poorly for some time.  He was a goldmine of information and loved to tell old stories, recite poems and sing old rhymes.  He will be sorely missed by all of us. 

I made the card above for Darren's grandma Phyllis, to let her know we're thinking of her.

Vintage Vogue

Hey folks, well another couple of weeks have passed, and unfortunatley they've been rather expensive as I've had to get a new car (poor Esther the fiesta catastrophically failed her MOT) and ended up having to spend a fortune at the dentist having root canal treatment - not good!

On a more positive note, I've just about moved back into my 'K'raft room - I'm just awaiting the delivery of my new desk and then it'll be finished and fully functioning.  The shelves are now installed and full!! Pictures to follow soon!

In the meantime I've been having a big sort out of my stash and have earmarked a number of items to get rid of on ebay - necessitated by the large parcels of stampin' up goodies which keep arriving with the UPS man (whoops!).

I actually have something crafty to share for what seems like the first week in ages!  This is the set of cards that we'll be making at my class this coming Saturday.  It's a set of 3 cards and a matching holder (courtesy of Jo) featuring the Vintage Vogue stamp set and 'Night and Day' specialty designer papers.

Stamp With Us New Year - Challenge 1 and Mojo Monday

Well it's been a busy couple of weeks, and I've been finding lots of time to spend in my craft room (though still not as much as I would like!!).  Last week saw the start of the stamp with us new year classes and challenges, so I'm in the process of making a number of easter treats which I'll be posting in the next couple of days. The first thing I have to share today is the first challenge card, which had to incorporate regal rose, bashful blue, barely banana and certainly celery (all SU colours), I based my card on the Mojo Monday 123 sketch and used the greenhouse garden stamp set, which I'm loving at the moment.

I liked the layout and effect so much that I changed the colour scheme the next day and had another go.

It was Darren's gran's birthday last week (Happy Birthday Phyllis!), and she still loves to write to her friends, so I made her a little box of notelets, using the design and colour scheme from my limited supplies challenge in the ILWS challenge cup back in January.  I've made a co-ordinating box, five 4" notelets and stamped five co-ordinating envelopes, I'm just awaiting her feedback now!

And finally, I've found some time to get my 'wild about you' stamp set inky, for my friend's son's 4th birthday, he's loving his bright colours at the moment, this design was inspired by one that I saw on a blog somewhere - but I cant find the link right now.
