It's the Weekend!!

Morning folks
apologies, i meant to post a couple of days back, but unfortunately a nasty tooth infection struck me down and i've been struggling to get back on track since! today i'm running a papercraft class using the greenhouse garden stamp set, which is currently reduced by 20% until the end of August! We're making a gift tote and four matching cards using the one sheet wonder technique.

The set is based on one by my upline Monica for Stamp With Us, but I've changed the colour scheme to a much brighter variation of rich razzleberry, melon mambo & old olive, which all feature in the new brights collection from SU! I'm loving the polka dot grosgrain and will be very sorry to see it disappear soon.

The month is racing by, and it'll soon be time for a new catalogue (launch date of 1st October). If you'd like to receive a copy of the new catty on its day of release, then I can post it to you at a cost of £3.95 - email me to pre-order your copy!

Of course to make way for all of the yummy new colours, papers, accessories and stamps we'll be retiring some products. the retiring list will be posted on 1st September and you'll be able to order items from it whilst stocks last, up until 30th September at the latest. This is particularly important if you have a favourite colour that's retiring as there'll be no more after that date, so stock up now!!!

I'm very excited as tomorrow I'm meeting up with a number of other demos to play with stamps and ink in a shoebox swap - i'll be back tomorrow to share my card candy and project. Until then i think that's all for now.

Have a fab Saturday

Happy middle of the week :) it's almost the weekend again, and I'm not too sure where time is disappearing to at the moment! For those of you who haven't heard, SU have a 20% off offer on a number of the 2-step stamp sets this month, click the link in the sidebar for more details!

The class uses the one-sheet wonder technique to make 4 cards and a matching tote bag. and we're featuring two of the yummy 'newish' colours from Stampin' Up - rich razzleberry & melon mambo.
If you'd like to join us, the class runs on 21st August from 1pm-4pm, email me to book your place!

Well that's all for today, I'm off to start the prep for next months class!

Challenged

Well I hope you all had a lovely restful weekend.  As promised, I'm back with the remaining 2 cards from the August DT challenges over on ILWS, as well as a template for the centre-step fold card. The first card was an inspiration challenge, this was the image we were provided with
I really struggled to come up with any ideas for this one, then I began focusing on the geometric shapes and bright colours and this sprung to mind

Finally I had a sketch challenge to complete with about 20 minutes to go before the upload deadline!
Now normally I love sketch challenges, but I really struggled to make this one work. In the end I resorted to the needlepoint technique called bargello, and recreated the effect with strips of stripey paper - I'm still not overly sure on how well the finished card works though! Ho hum, I guess that's why they call it a challenge!

And finally, I have the template to share for the centre-step fold card. I've converted the dimensions from those over on splitcoast for the UK sizes of card (all of theirs assume letter!) (If you click on the image it should enlarge!)

Well folks, that's all i've got time for right now, I'll  be back soon with the sneak peeks of my next class.

Blogger ate my last post!

Evening folks
well imagine my surprise when i popped on here to update my blog, only to find that my last post had completely disappeared! so now i guess it'll be one long post as I've been rather busy crafting recently - my rather pink looking fingers will confirm that (melon mambo does NOT come off skin easily!). This month marks my first month designing for the 'In Love With Stamping' design team. So last weekend I was busily deigning, making, photographing and uploading 6 designs for 4 challenges set by the lovely Karin.  Here are my entries for the colour combination challenge, which was so saffron, certainly celery, basic grey & whisper white:

The next challenge I attempted was the technique challenge, we had to use a piece of cling film in conjunction with our ink pads to create a card. As I started playing, I was reminded of a cloudy sky, and the following two scenes sprung to mind, both using my favourite fold at the moment - a centre stair step, which is great for producing layered scenes. I promised a diagram the other week, and will hopefully get around to uploading it later in the week!

Recipes:
colour challenge 1 - Stamp sets: pocket silhouettes

Cardstock: certainly celery, so saffron, basic grey and whisper white cardstock
Supplies: whisper white craft and basic grey ink, certainly celery grosgrain ribbon.
colour challenge 2 - Stamp sets: occasional greetings, tiny tags

technique challenge 2 - Stamp sets: circle circus, good neighbours

Well, I'll stop rabbiting on for now - I'll be back later in the week with the remaining 2 cards from the challenges, and a sneak peek of my upcoming 'greenhouse garden' class.

have a great start to the week!
